Carina Salvemini

Carina began training at Phoenix in late 2004 after receiving a gift voucher from a friend.  Having tried kickboxing once, she was sure that this was more than just a pastime.

Carina started in beginner classes and with consistent training and dedication gained the skills and fitness to train in intermediate and then advanced classes, she is now graded to a senior level.  For several years Carina enjoyed the physical and mental challenges of training without competition, but in 2007 decided to test her skills in the ring.  Since her debut as a fighter, Carina has amassed numerous fights (kickboxing, Muay Thai & boxing) including several title bouts and her enthusiasm for the sport has seen her travel overseas to train in Thailand.

Carina was a student studying neuroscience and human movement at university when she first began at Phoenix.  Since then she has gone on to complete a Masters of Physiotherapy and begun working in the field, all the while training consistently.  Carina will be the first to tell you that “there is always time for exercise; it helps the mind as much as it helps the body”.

Carina’s success in her studies, career and fighting is testament to the hard work and dedication applied to all aspects of her life.  Carina is a driven individual whose knowledge of the human body and willingness to assist others in achieving their goals makes her a valuable asset to the gym.
